As much as I like this idea, the romantic notion of this quote, there have been notable exceptions. Times when I felt the slack in the rope, and I let go first - before I could be yanked over the cliff by my own desires.
Some days, I think, maybe I should have held on, claws and all. Other days, I’m thankful for such keen intuition and self-preservation.
